Early Childhood Music Teacher Education Management Agency West Lake Hills, TX Job Details Part-time From $40 an hour 19 hours ago Qualifications Teamwork Program design Working with students Elementary school teaching experience Teaching experience with young children Full Job Description Early Childhood & Elementary Music Teacher Part-Time Position | Westlake, Austin, Texas About the Opportunity We are seeking an outstanding music educator to help build a joyful, child-centered music program for a small learning pod serving children ages 2-8 in West Austin. This is an opportunity to help shape a music program from the ground up in a learning pod community that values creativity, curiosity, movement, collaboration, and whole-child development. We are looking for a teacher who believes music is something children experience—not simply perform. The ideal candidate inspires children to sing, move, play instruments, create, improvise, and develop a lifelong love of music. Position Summary The Music Teacher will design and lead engaging music experiences for early childhood and elementary-aged students, introducing children to rhythm, melody, movement, singing, listening, improvisation, and instrumental performance in developmentally appropriate ways. The successful candidate will create a learning environment where every child participates actively and experiences the joy of making music. Responsibilities Plan and teach developmentally appropriate music classes for children ages 2-8. Incorporate singing, movement, rhythm, listening, improvisation, and instrumental exploration into every lesson. Introduce children to classroom instruments such as Orff instruments, percussion, recorders, ukuleles, or other age-appropriate instruments. Foster creativity, confidence, collaboration, and musical expression. Design performances or informal sharing opportunities as appropriate. Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate music across the curriculum when appropriate. Create a joyful, learning environment where every child experiences success. Preferred Qualifications We're looking for someone with experience in one or more child-centered music education approaches, including: Orff Schulwerk Kodály Dalcroze Eurhythmics Feierabend's First Steps in Music Music Together Kindermusik Other developmentally appropriate elementary music approaches Additional qualifications include: Experience teaching early childhood and/or elementary students. Strong classroom management and communication skills. A love for working with young children. Creativity, flexibility, and a collaborative spirit. Certification in one or more of the above methodologies is welcomed but not required. Success in This Role Success will be measured by creating an engaging, joyful music program where children actively sing, move, play instruments, and develop a lifelong appreciation for music.
