Pediatric Dental Office Float Position
Job Description
Part-Time Pediatric Dental Assistant / Administrative Team Member (Float Position) New Roots Pediatric Dentistry | [West Lake Hills, TX] | $19-27/hour | 3 days/week, Mon-Thu, 7:30 AM
•3:30 PM, Fridays always off Tired of rushing through a packed schedule? Come practice the way dentistry should feel. At New Roots Pediatric Dentistry, we do things differently. As a 100% out-of-network practice, we intentionally see fewer patients so we can give every family an exceptional, personalized experience. No double-booked chairs and no racing the clock. You'll have the time to connect with kids, support parents, and deliver care you're proud of. We take a whole-body approach to pediatric dentistry, with a focus on airway health, growth and development, and clean, biocompatible materials. We give parents real options, take the time to walk them through each one, and are committed to clear, upfront pricing so families always know what to expect. If that philosophy excites you, we'd love to meet you. About the Role This is a versatile float position that blends chairside assisting with front office support. Your mix of clinical and administrative work will shift week to week based on the needs of the practice, so no two weeks look quite the same. You'll join us on all three of our clinical days each week. Those days fall within Monday through Thursday and rotate based on our schedule, and you'll never work a Friday. What You'll Do Chairside, you'll assist the doctor during pediatric procedures, perform coronal polishing, monitor patients during nitrous oxide sedation, take radiographs, prepare and sterilize operatories and instruments, and help kids feel safe, calm, and even excited about their visit. At the front desk, you'll be a trusted guide for families from their very first call. You'll welcome new patients and walk them through intake and onboarding, manage scheduling and phones, and present treatment plans and costs with warmth and clarity. You'll also process payments, prepare out-of-network superbills and claims, and submit prior authorizations so families have full transparency into their costs before treatment begins. What We're Looking For We want an experienced Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) with 2+ years of dental assisting experience. The following current certifications are required: coronal polishing, nitrous oxide monitoring, and CPR/BLS [and radiology, if applicable]. Pediatric experience is a strong plus. Front office experience is preferred but not required, since we're happy to train the right person on our administrative systems, including Archy, our cloud-based practice management software. You'll thrive here if you enjoy switching between clinical and administrative work, love working with children, and can explain treatment options and costs to parents in a way that feels honest and reassuring. The ideal person is curious about or already passionate about airway-focused, whole-body dental care. Why You'll Love It Here We believe great care starts with a team that has a life outside of work. Our clinic sees patients from 8:00 to 3:00, so you'll be done by 3:30 with time for school pickups, errands, and evenings that are actually yours. Add a three-day workweek with every Friday off, and you get real balance. Our lower patient volume means quality over quantity. You'll join a small, close-knit team that genuinely enjoys working together, in a fun, kid-friendly office with modern technology and equipment. You'll also get to practice a forward-thinking approach to pediatric care, and we'll train you on the front office side if it's new to you.
