High Altitude Kids
Experienced Lead Two Year Old Teacher
Job Description
Experienced Lead Teacher - Two-Year-Old Classroom High Altitude Kids | Eden, Utah High Altitude Kids is looking for an exceptional, deeply experienced teacher who genuinely loves working with two-year-olds. This is not an entry-level early childcare position. We are specifically looking for someone who already has significant professional experience working with toddlers/two-year-olds and can confidently step into a classroom and lead. Our ideal teacher is warm, dynamic, playful and highly engaged. She gets down on the floor, sings songs, creates wonderful experiences, talks with children throughout the day and genuinely enjoys this incredibly fun age. But she is also an experienced classroom leader. She can walk into a busy room and immediately see what needs to happen. She anticipates needs, manages transitions, notices the child who needs help before being asked, delegates to other teachers, keeps the classroom moving and creates a calm, joyful environment for young children. We are looking for someone who understands two-year-old development deeply — emerging language, independence, big emotions, sensory needs, toileting, biting/hitting, parallel play, transitions and the enormous developmental growth that happens during this year. This position is a great fit for someone who:
- Has substantial professional experience with toddlers or two-year-olds
- Has successfully led or helped lead an early childhood classroom
- Is confident making decisions independently throughout the day
- Is naturally warm, energetic and engaging with young children
- Notices what needs to be done and acts without waiting to be directed
- Can guide and delegate to other classroom staff
- Understands developmentally appropriate expectations for two-year-olds
- Loves creating beautiful, interesting and hands-on experiences for children
- Values relationships, independence, play and intentional early learning
- Wants to be part of a small, established early childhood school where excellent teaching is genuinely valued High Altitude Kids is a relationship-based early learning school blending elements of Montessori, Reggio Emilia and contemporary child-development research.
