We seek an educator who can connect early childhood education theory with teaching practice and help prepare future early childhood professionals. About the Department The Department of Early Childhood Education prepares future kindergarten teachers, childcare teachers, and early childhood education professionals through the study of child development, teaching and learning, and systematic practical training. The department emphasizes reflective practice, thoughtful curriculum implementation, and the professional knowledge and personal qualities needed to support young children's learning and development. Students build capabilities in understanding learners, communication, curriculum planning and implementation, classroom management, and continuing professional growth. With career pathways in kindergartens, childcare centers, and early childhood education research, the program connects academic study with the responsibilities of educational practice. Department Overview and Educational Objectives — Korean Curriculum — Korean Woosong University — English Responsibilities The successful candidate will: Teach 15 credit hours per semester. Develop and update course materials to maintain academic rigor and relevance to educational practice. Advise and mentor students on academic progress and career development. Contribute to curriculum development, program assessment, and accreditation activities. Participate in departmental and university committees, academic events, and student activities. Support the department and university through service activities. Perform other duties assigned by the department chair or dean. Required Qualifications An earned PhD in Early Childhood Education or a closely related field. Demonstrated English proficiency sufficient for teaching and academic communication. Preferred Qualifications Practical experience in early childhood education settings. Potential Teaching Areas Teaching assignments may include the following courses, depending on departmental needs: Introduction to Early Childhood Education Infant and Child Development Teaching Methods for Play Early Childhood Education Curriculum Teaching Methods in Infant and Early Childhood Education Final course assignments will be determined by departmental needs.

Compensation and Benefits Salary:

KRW 60,000,000-75,000,000

annually before tax, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Exceptional candidates may be considered for a higher salary.

Housing:

Faculty housing may be provided, subject to availability.

Relocation Support:

Round-trip economy-class airfare reimbursement for faculty hired from outside the Republic of Korea.

Settlement Allowance:

KRW 100,000

per day for up to 15 days of early arrival before the appointment start date.

Vacation:

20 paid working days of annual leave per year.

Insurance and Pension:

Enrollment in Korean National Health Insurance and the Private School Teachers' Pension. Publication Incentives Publication-based incentive payments are available in accordance with university policy. The following rates apply to single-author papers: Scopus-indexed journal:

SCI-indexed journal:

per paper.

KCI-indexed journal:

for the first paper in a year and

KRW 2,000,000

for each subsequent paper, subject to a total annual cap of
