Job Description

Come join our team in our new building! We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic teacher to join our team at Lil' Sprouts, a licensed child care facility in Blaine. This position is for a hybrid of duties including classroom coverage, one-on-one support, meal service assistance, and closing duties with the opportunity to transfer to full time classroom teacher when enrollment increases and new classrooms open up. The Lead teachers wok closely together to create a cohesive learning environment in accordance with Early Achievers standards. The Lead teacher will be in charge of lesson planning and development for children in their care. Lessons should be developmentally appropriate, with a variety of enrichment activities that can help assess key developmental milestones. Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
  • Lead by example; encourage success through modeling and coaching.
  • Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive and emotional growth.
  • Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.
  • Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met.
  • Ensure a healthy classroom environment
  • including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.
  • Maintain accurate records, forms and files.
  • Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
Job Requirements:
  • Must be 18 years or older, with appropriate personality for working with children
  • Completed High School education or equivalent
  • Ability to pass Washington State DEL Background Check
  • Negative TB test prior to the first day of working with children
  • Documented and current First Aid / CPR (Adult, child, infant)
  • BBP / HIV / AIDS

S.T.A.R.S
Basics Training
  • 10 Hours Continuing Education Annually
  • Current Food Handlers Card
  • Early Childhood CDA or college-level coursework strongly preferred (These can be completed within 90 days of hire, EXCEPT negative TB test, background check, and food handlers permit, which must be completed prior to first day of work) Salary is $18/hr until all certifications complete then raise to $20 DOE plus $0.
50 EA hourly bonus and $1 per hour wage enhancement, with annual review.
