This role is responsible for designing and executing age-appropriate curricula, managing classroom daily operations, overseeing assistant teachers, and maintaining clear communication with parents and administration.

Key Responsibilities Curriculum & Instruction:

Plan, implement, and evaluate daily age-appropriate lesson plans and learning activities; track child development milestones and conduct periodic evaluations.

Classroom & Safety Management:

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom; supervise children continuously to ensure safety; enforce sanitary practices and proper handwashing routines.

Parent Communication:

Maintain open, professional communication with families regarding child progress, behavioral observations, and daily activity logs through approved parent communication channels.

Team Supervision:

Guide, mentor, and delegate daily tasks to assistant teachers, aides, and classroom volunteers to maintain efficient classroom flow.

Compliance & Record Keeping:

Ensure compliance with state licensing rules, health standards, safety regulations, and center policies; maintain accurate attendance and incident records. Qualifications & Requirements High school diploma or GED required. Initial and Short Certificate in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Associate degree required. Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or equivalent state child care qualifications required. Minimum of 1-2 years of experience leading a classroom in a licensed child care center. Current CPR, First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogens certifications (or willingness to obtain upon hire). Ability to clear state and federal criminal background checks. Physical & Operational Demands Ability to lift up to 30-45 lbs, bend, stoop, kneel, and stand for extended periods. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficient with digital management and classroom documentation platforms (e.g., Brightwheel).

Pay:

$19.00 - $21.00 per hour Expected hours: No more than 40.0 per week
