A Psychology Professor teaches foundational psychological ideas, truths, and methods to students through a combination of classroom instruction, field experience, and assignments at colleges, trade schools or other institutes. May assist or lead in the creation of the curriculum to be taught. In addition to instruction, they may assist or lead in research initiatives relating to their field. In some cases, psychology professors will perform therapeutic services.

Full time 12-month faculty position in the Department of Marriage and Family Therapy with responsibilities assigned to the MS in Counseling Psychology program. The Department of Marriage and Family Therapy seeks a full-time faculty person with specialization in children and youth mental health. All applicants must hold licensure as a mental health provider (Psychologist, LPCC, LMFT) and possess clinical supervisor qualifications (minimum of 2 years of licensure). The M.S. of Counseling Psychology faculty are primarily responsible for teaching courses in the area of Counseling psychology, mentoring and advising undergraduate and graduate students. Candidates seeking are also expected to maintain an active research/scholarship program. Counseling psychology faculty are fully integrated with the department of psychology faculty, and carry faculty responsibilities as a member of the department.
Specialization:
Licensure and clinical supervisor qualifications (minimum of 2 years licensure) in mental health field. Registered Play Therapist preferred. Evidence of clinical specialization in children and youth services.
Responsibilities:
Teaching, mentoring, research/scholarship, university community service Assist in implementation and growth of the M.S. in Counseling Psychology graduate program Participate as a full and integral member of the Department of Psychology faculty May be needed to work at alternative Regional Campuses or Sites.

Experience/Qualifications:
Licensure and clinical supervisor qualifications (minimum of 2 years licensure) in a mental health field. Clinical specialization in children and youth services. Registered Play Therapist required. Demonstrated breadth and depth of experience in Children's mental health services and a strong Christian commitment are required. Previous experience and demonstrated excellence in university teaching and service to a university is desirable. Candidates seeking appointment at Associate or Full Professor level must demonstrate evidence of scholarly research and publications in their field.
Workload:
Full-time Faculty, 10-month position. Teach graduate courses in the MS in Counseling Psychology program, mentor and advise students, conduct research and/or clinical services, and participate in university service and leadership.

Compensation:
$70,304 to $125,460 is the annual salary for this role and reflects what Azusa Pacific University reasonably expects to pay for this position.
