The Department of Psychology has an open part-time (50%) faculty position to teach undergraduate psychology, with primary assignment to the Professional (degree-completion) Psychology program. The ideal candidate will hold a Ph.D. or Psy.

D. in psychology from an APA-accredited program. This position is responsible for teaching undergraduate courses, commensurate with the faculty member's area of specialization, and may include core psychology courses, research, writing and data analysis courses, clinical courses, and faith integration courses. This position will be primarily responsible for teaching, mentoring, and advising students.

Specialization:

Area of specialization in counseling/clinical, developmental, social, or general psychology. Demonstrated strong APA writing skills required.

Responsibilities:

Teaching, mentoring, and advising students. Service to the department, including assistance with recruitment. While most courses in the Professional Psychology program are taught online, the candidate may be needed to work at one or more regional campuses.

Qualifications:

Ph.D. or Psy.

D. from an APA-accredited program.

Experience:

A history of excellence in university teaching. A strong Christian commitment. Experience in service to a university. Evidence of scholarly research and publications in the field of psychology desirable.

Workload:

Part-time, 50% faculty position. Teaching courses annually, advise students, and participate in service to the department.

Compensation:

$35,152 to $62,730 is the annual salary for this role and reflects what Azusa Pacific University reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications, experience, and internal equity. In addition to compensation, APU offers a competitive benefits package. Compensation will be based on experience, rank, and qualifications.
