4:30 PM - 6:30 PM No weekends About the Position IWRBR Consulting is seeking a passionate and dedicated Literacy Coach to join our Clubhouse Kids Afterschool Program at our Bristol Bluffs location. The Literacy Coach plays a critical role in supporting student literacy growth by providing targeted reading instruction, small-group instruction, and individualized support for students in 1st through 8th grade . This position works closely with the Site Lead and program team to deliver evidence-based literacy support focused on the Science of Reading , foundational reading skills, comprehension, fluency, and student confidence. The ideal candidate is passionate about literacy, enjoys working with young people, and is committed to helping students develop the skills needed to become stronger and more confident readers. Key Responsibilities Provide literacy instruction and support to students in 1st through 8th grade.
Deliver targeted literacy lessons through:
Whole-group instruction Small-group instruction One-on-one student support Implement Science of Reading-aligned strategies, including phonics, phonemic awareness, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension skills. Support students with foundational literacy skills based on individual learning needs. Monitor student progress and provide feedback to help students improve their reading skills. Use assessment data and observations to identify areas of growth and provide targeted interventions. Create engaging literacy activities that encourage student participation and confidence. Collaborate with the Site Lead and Program Assistant to integrate literacy into daily programming. Maintain a positive, encouraging, and supportive learning environment. Support student engagement and positive behavior during literacy activities. Assist with required program documentation and student progress tracking. Follow all organizational expectations, safety procedures, and program policies. Qualifications Experience providing literacy instruction, tutoring, teaching, or academic support to students. Strong understanding of foundational reading skills and Science of Reading principles. Experience working with elementary and/or middle school students preferred. Ability to provide instruction in both small-group and one-on-one settings. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Passion for helping students develop confidence and academic success. Background in education, literacy instruction, tutoring, reading intervention, or youth development preferred.
