Hold a Master's Degree from an accredited college or university Hold a valid New Jersey educational services Speech-Language Specialist certificate Have excellent integrity and demonstrate good moral character and initiative Demonstrate the ability to assess, treat, and provide strategies for the prevention and remediation of speech, language, and hearing disorders. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Speech-Language pathology, child growth and development, learning assessment and diagnosis, research related to learning, instructional strategies, and classroom management. Demonstrate an understanding of current rules and regulations regarding Child Study Team and special education assessment and program requirements. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, with staff, students, parents, administrators, and the community.
