Physics Instructor
LOCATION
Williston, ND (on campus)

TYPE OF APPOINTMENT
Full-time, exempt, 9-month contract, benefitted position. After a preliminary evaluation period of 2 years, this position may become a tenure-track position.
BACKGROUND CHECK

JOB SUMMARY
The Physics/Engineering Instructor will be responsible for teaching Physics (algebra-based and calculus-based sequences) and Math courses (possibilities range from college preparatory algebra to Calculus), beginning August of 2026 for the 2026-2027 Academic Year.
Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate and maintain competence in teaching physics throughout employment at the college.
  • Teach a course load of at least an average of 15 credits of courses each 16-week semester. Teaching courses during the summer term is optional for all faculty.
  • Regularly evaluate student progress toward course objectives.
  • Serve as academic advisor for PHYS and ENGR students within the college advisement system.
  • Serve on college, divisional and program committees as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Physics or Engineering or a Master's degree in another discipline and a combined 18 graduate semester hours in Physics.
  • Computer software skills and Internet familiarity.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous teaching experience at the collegiate level.
  • Well demonstrated public speaking and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook email and Calendar.
SALARY:
$51,834+ based on the WSC Faculty Salary Matrix.
