Job Description
General Description In conjunction with staff members, perform instruction, related counseling, and reporting requirements as specified by CEWD supervisory staff. In addition, adjustments in teaching strategies for bilingual students may be required. Because of the frequent contractual and programmatic changes at the CEWD, instructor requirements may be modified according to program and students' needs. Characteristics, Duties, and Responsibilities Provide instruction in a systematic as well as creative and challenging way. Classes will be conducted for trainees in theory, concepts and applications of training targeted computer software. Assist in making interpretations and recommendations for diagnostic activities for students in consultation with the supervisor. Take into account student individual employability plans and contribute to monthly evaluations of progress in program. Make modifications for and implement changes in individual program. Contribute to curriculum development attuned to learning level objectives. Participate in the general Center activities including personal development, program planning, and center related events. Accepts all other assignments which help CEWD realize contractual goals. Respond to all program requests. Travel to all campuses and satellite locations as needed. At all times exercise professionalism and confidentiality with staff and students. Other duties as assigned. Education Requirements A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required. Experience Relevant instructional experience or equivalent. Prior experience with underserved and adult populations a plus. Strong computer, typing, interpersonal and organizational skills. Competencies and Skills Required Ability to work remotely. Specific knowledge and experience in MS Windows, MS Office suite (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Access) and other computer applications as required. Knowledge of learning management systems for remote instruction. Canvas preferred. Knowledge of on-line vendor learning platforms for assessment, practice and certification. Certiport, for example. Will be required to participate in College training of Canvas LMS prior to commencement of student instruction. Ability to multi-task in a busy environment. Ability to work with persons of varied education, experience, social and economic backgrounds. Ability to remain discreet with student and staff information. Commitment to service and a diverse student population. Ability to meet deadlines. Ability and willingness to travel to other campuses, CEWD satellites and/or other satellites assigned as needed. Flexibility of schedule. Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle. Physical Demands and Work Environment This position's duties are normally performed in a typical interior/residence work environment, based on the activity scheduled. Some physical effort required; however, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. No or very limited exposure to physical risk. Some travel required.
