Job Description
Unity Active is seeking a thoughtful, organized instructor to guide students through weekly architecture and design activities. In this role, you'll help children explore how real spaces are imagined, sketched, and built using age‑appropriate tools and materials. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, communicates clearly, and can lead a structured, engaging class. Responsibilities Lead weekly classes that introduce basic architectural concepts such as balance, symmetry, spatial awareness, and simple floor planning Guide hands‑on projects including room layouts, playground designs, bridges, towers, and mini city models Support creativity while maintaining a calm, organized classroom environment Prepare materials using Unity Active's minimal‑materials approach Communicate with families and school partners as needed Ensure safety and supervision throughout each session Qualifications Experience working with children (school, camp, coaching, tutoring, or enrichment) Strong communication and classroom‑management skills Interest in design, architecture, art, or STEM Reliable, punctual, and comfortable leading groups independently Ability to follow Unity Active curriculum and weekly structure Schedule & Compensation Part‑time, after‑school hours 1-3 classes per week depending on site availability Competitive hourly rate based on experience Opportunity to teach more classes for other topics such as Sports, Robotics, Debate and more!
