Part-Time/Contract Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Horseback Riding Instructor to join our team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in horseback riding instruction, excellent communication skills, and a dedication to teaching students of all ages and skill levels. This role includes providing safe, fun, and educational riding lessons while ensuring the well-being of both riders and horses.
Responsibilities:
Conduct private and group riding lessons for riders of various skill levels, from beginners to advanced students. Teach proper riding techniques, horsemanship, and horse care practices. Ensure a safe riding environment by enforcing safety protocols and evaluating students' riding abilities. Assist with the care and maintenance of lesson horses, including grooming, tacking, and basic stable duties as needed in preparation and involvement for lesson. Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to help students improve their riding skills. Communicate with students, parents, and staff to schedule lessons and discuss progress. Assist with occasional barn events, camps, and clinics as needed Only considering applicants willing to sign a one year contract. Will consider 16 years and older.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a horseback riding instructor or extensive riding experience with teaching abilities. Strong knowledge of horse behavior, handling, and care. Ability to work with riders of different ages and skill levels in a patient and supportive manner. CPR and First Aid certification (preferred but not required). Instructor certification from a recognized organization (e.g., CHA, PATH Intl., or USHJA) is a huge plus. Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently as well as part of a team. Flexible schedule but lesson times will be weekdays afterschool, evening and/or weekend lessons. Those with their own insurance is a huge plus.
Compensation:
