Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Exciting opportunities are available for passionate Special Education Teachers who are eager to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students! Two full-time contract positions are open, each offering the chance to work in welcoming, supportive school environments near Dadeville, AL. Positions are available in both a resource classroom for grades 2 and 3 and a self-contained classroom for grades K-2. These roles begin as soon as possible and extend through late May.
Desired Qualifications:
Hold a valid Special Education teaching certification. Demonstrated experience in either resource (grades 2-3) or self-contained (K-2) special education settings. Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with students, families, and professional teams. Adaptability to tailor instruction and classroom management to diverse learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver individualized instruction aligned with students' IEPs. Foster an inclusive, positive, and productive classroom climate. Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to promote student success. Maintain accurate records on student progress and behavior. Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers regarding students' achievements and needs. Support students' social, emotional, and academic development through differentiated strategies.
