9652601-95624 Job Description Step into a rewarding contract role supporting students as a dedicated educator for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community in a self-contained classroom setting. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference for students in need of specialized instruction and support. You'll collaborate with a team of passionate professionals and provide individualized guidance to help each student reach their fullest potential. The current DHH teacher is preparing for retirement, and the assignment is slated to begin in November or December.
Qualifications:
Active Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) License in California is required Experience working with Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in an educational setting Strong communication skills, both in speech and sign language Ability to develop and adapt curriculum materials for a range of learning levels and modalities Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment Experience in self-contained classrooms valued
Responsibilities:
Design and implement individualized education plans for each student Deliver engaging instruction using various communication strategies and assistive technologies Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records in accordance with state guidelines Collaborate with other educators, support staff, and families to optimize student outcomes Participate in IEP meetings and professional development activities Foster a positive, respectful, and interactive classroom culture This full-time contract role offers a schedule of 35-40 hours per week spread across five days, ensuring the consistency and focus your students need to thrive.
