Category Schools - Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing Job Type Contract Support the next generation of learners as a dedicated Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in a welcoming school community. In this contract role, you'll play a vital part in fostering access, confidence, and communication for students with hearing challenges, tailoring your approach to their individual needs.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

State certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing Experience providing direct instruction and educational support to students with varying degrees of hearing loss Knowledge of assistive technology and learning accommodations Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL), Signed English, or other communication modalities Strong collaboration and communication skills for working with general education staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams Passion for empowering students to reach their fullest potential academically and socially

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with students, families, and staff Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to support access and comprehension for deaf and hard of hearing students Provide direct instruction in both one-on-one and small group settings, with sensitivity to each student's preferred communication style Consult and collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to promote inclusion and provide training on effective practices and technologies Advocate for the needs of deaf and hard of hearing students within the school environment This opportunity provides a fulfilling chance to enrich the lives of students by championing accessibility and inclusion in education.
