Supplemental Health Care is partnering with a school district in California to hire a dedicated Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. We are seeking an educator who is passionate about supporting elementary students with mild to moderate disabilities and creating a positive, inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive. This opportunity is ideal for a special education professional who enjoys working in a self-contained classroom setting and collaborating with school teams to support student success.
Contract Details Pay:
$48 - $52 per hour Full-time contract position August 2026 through June 2027 37.5 hours per week | 7.5-hour workdays School-year schedule Job Responsibilities Provide specialized instruction to elementary students with mild to moderate disabilities Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs Maintain accurate documentation and progress monitoring Collaborate with general education staff, administrators, related service providers, and families Support students' academic, behavioral, social, and emotional development Create a structured and engaging classroom environment that promotes student growth Qualifications Active California Mild/Moderate Special Education Credential required Previous experience working in a self-contained special education classroom preferred Experience supporting elementary-aged students preferred Knowledge of SEIS (Special Education Information System) strongly preferred Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and school personnel Why Supplemental Health Care?
