A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

40 weeks Required Qualifications Active California Special Education Moderate/Severe Credential Credential must be in hand prior to start date Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation Excellent communication and collaboration skills Previous school-based experience preferred Responsibilities Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Deliver differentiated instruction tailored to student needs Create a positive, supportive, and inclusive learning environment Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation Collaborate with administrators, educators, specialists, and families Support students' social, emotional, behavioral, and academic growth Utilize assistive technology and adaptive learning tools as appropriate Participate in team meetings and contribute to student success plans Preferred Qualifications Master's Degree in Special Education Experience working with moderate to severe student populations Familiarity with behavior intervention strategies and data collection Why Join CareStaff Partners?
