Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract role supporting elementary students as a Special Education Teacher in a vibrant school community near Broomfield, CO. This onsite opportunity is tailored for educators with a passion for making a meaningful impact on students with mild to moderate needs. You will enjoy a consistent four-day workweek (Tuesday through Friday) from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., allowing for a healthy work-life balance with long weekends.

Key Qualifications:

Valid Colorado Department of Education Special Education (CDE SPED) licensure required Experience working with elementary-aged children with mild/moderate needs preferred Familiarity with creating and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment Strong collaboration and communication skills, working closely with fellow staff and families

Core Responsibilities:

Provide direct instruction, assessment, and specialized supports to students on an elementary caseload Develop and adapt lesson plans tailored to individual student needs and learning goals Monitor student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as necessary Maintain accurate records and thorough documentation in compliance with state and federal guidelines Participate actively in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and interdisciplinary planning Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers to promote student success
