Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a difference this school year by supporting middle school students as a Special Education Teacher in a classroom focused on Significant Support Needs. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to positively impact the lives of 6th to 8th graders in a small caseload setting, ensuring each student gets the individualized attention they deserve. You'll work alongside caring educators and support staff, creating and implementing personalized educational programs. With a set weekly schedule—Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:40 AM to 3:50 PM, and Wednesday from 9:40 AM to 3:50 PM—you'll enjoy a predictable routine and a healthy work-life balance. This contract runs now through late May, making it ideal for someone looking to make an immediate impact for the remainder of the school year.
Qualifications and Preferences:
Valid Special Education teaching license (please have a copy available when applying) Experience working with students with significant support needs preferred Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and progress monitoring Strong communication skills and collaborative spirit Ability to provide a positive, structured, and engaging classroom environment
Main Responsibilities:
Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each student's unique needs and strengths Collaborate with support staff, parents, and related service providers Modify curriculum and instruction for a small, dedicated caseload of five students Foster social, emotional, and academic growth through evidence-based strategies Track student progress and maintain clear documentation This position offers the competitive contract rate of $82.58 per hour, reflecting your expertise and the importance of your work.
