Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

Key Qualifications:
Experience or training as a paraprofessional in K-12 settings preferred Ability to implement teachers' lesson plans and support individualized instruction Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with students, staff, and families Patience, adaptability, and compassion for working with students of varying abilities Willingness to assist with basic student needs and classroom management tasks Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally
Role Responsibilities:
Assist teachers in classroom instruction, providing extra support to students who need it Implement accommodations for those requiring additional academic or behavioral help Supervise students in various settings, including classrooms, hallways, meal times, and outdoor activities Foster a positive and respectful learning environment for all students Aid with preparation of materials and organization of activities under teacher guidance Monitor student progress and share observations with educational staff
