Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding, contract role supporting middle school students in a specialized program near North Haven, CT. Work full-time across a 37.5-hour week within a dedicated team that includes a social worker, literacy coach, math teacher, BCBA, behavior therapists, and a teacher assistant. This collaborative environment is designed to ensure every student receives the personalized attention and resources they need for success. The program serves 10-12 students, allowing you to make a meaningful, direct impact while growing in a supportive professional setting.

Qualifications and Experience:

Current special education teaching certification Experience working with middle school students Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to adapt instruction for diverse learning needs Understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) Skilled in co-teaching and working with multidisciplinary teams Patience, empathy, and a positive, resourceful attitude
