Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Inspire young minds and make a meaningful difference as a Special Education Teacher working with elementary students (grades K-5) in a resource and push-in classroom setting. This contract opportunity offers consistent hours—37.5 per week—starting as soon as possible and extending through June 10, 2027. You'll play a vital role supporting students' individual learning goals and collaborating with fellow educators.
Key Qualifications:
Current Connecticut teaching license with 165 or 265 Special Education Certification DSAP certification may be considered for strong candidates Experience teaching or supporting students in grades K-5, especially in resource or push-in models Proficiency in IEP writing and case management Strong organization, communication, and collaboration skills
Role Responsibilities:
Deliver direct instruction tailored to each student's needs Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Provide case management and maintain accurate student records Work closely with classroom teachers, families, and support staff Adapt curriculum and strategies for diverse learning needs Foster a supportive and positive learning environment Participate in team meetings and professional development
Compensation:
