Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role supporting students' growth and learning in a self-contained classroom. This contract position, beginning immediately through December, offers the chance to make a direct impact in a close-knit educational setting near West Hartford, CT. You will work with a small group of five students, grades 4-6, providing personalized instruction and fostering a nurturing learning environment.
Qualifications:
Valid Special Education Teacher certification Experience working with elementary or intermediate grade students, preferably in a self-contained setting Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Commitment to cultivating an inclusive and supportive space for diverse learners
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver tailored instruction to meet students' academic, social, and behavioral needs Differentiate lesson plans according to IEP goals and student readiness Provide consistent support and supervision of all students throughout the school day Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families to maximize each student's success Maintain detailed records and participate in IEP meetings as needed Actively contribute to a positive, collaborative classroom culture
Position Details:
Full-time, contract role from immediate start through
December Schedule:
