Job Description

Make a difference every day by supporting students in a collaborative educational environment as a Special Education Teacher. This contract opportunity, situated conveniently near Washington Navy Yard, DC, allows you to work closely with dedicated staff while providing essential services to students who need it most. You'll be instrumental in helping each child reach their full potential through individualized instruction and creative teaching strategies.
Qualifications:
Valid teaching certification in Special Education (state requirements must be met) Experience working with students who have varying exceptionalities Strong communication and collaboration skills with colleagues, students, and families Ability to develop and implement IEPs tailored to student needs Commitment to inclusive practices and fostering a positive classroom climate Flexibility and adaptability in dynamic school settings
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver differentiated instruction based on student IEP goals Assess student progress and modify lesson plans to ensure growth Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to create a comprehensive support system Document and maintain accurate records of student performance and communication Participate in meetings, professional development, and school activities as required Advocate for students needs and a supportive learning environment This is an excellent chance to broaden your teaching experience and make a real impact in a vibrant academic setting.
