A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, or related field.
- Knowledge and experience with Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA), methodology and implementation.
- Experience working with students with disabilities, such as Autism, ADHD, and Speech/Language Impairments.
- Valid teaching certification or license.
- Willingness to hold a leadership role within the classroom, guiding the paraprofessional as well as students' therapy team in the academic and behavioral development of students with disabilities.
- Ability to oversee the implementation of specialized instructional programs and documentation, collaborate with student's therapy team, parents, and other professionals.
- Must have knowledge on how to address challenging behaviors and differentiate curriculum.
Pay:
$50,000.00- $55,000.
