Job Description

Position Summary We are seeking a dependable, flexible, and caring Floater Teacher to join our childcare team. This position offers flexible scheduling with hours ranging from part-time to full-time, up to 40 hours per week. The Floater Teacher will work with children ages 6 weeks through 5 years old, providing support throughout the center as needed. Responsibilities Assist teachers by covering lunch breaks and planning periods. Provide supervision and care for children in classrooms ranging from infants (6 weeks) to preschool age (5 years). Substitute as the lead classroom teacher when a teacher is absent or off for the day. Maintain a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for all children. Follow daily schedules, classroom routines, and center policies. Support children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. Communicate professionally with staff, parents, and administration. Assist with classroom organization, cleaning, and preparation of activities. Be flexible and available to work in different classrooms as needed. Respond to occasional call-ins when additional coverage is required. Qualifications Experience working with young children preferred. Ability to work with children of varying ages and developmental stages. Reliable, punctual, and adaptable. Flexible schedule with the ability to accept occasional call-in shifts. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Must meet all state licensing requirements and successfully complete required background screenings. Schedule Part-time to full-time hours available, up to 40 hours per week. Hours may vary based on staffing needs and classroom coverage. Must be willing to work with all age groups, from infants through preschool. Flexibility and dependability are essential for this role.
