Job Description

A rewarding opportunity is available for an experienced Special Education Teacher to support a vibrant Pre-K program serving children ages 3-5 with diverse needs. This full-time, contract position starts as soon as possible and runs through May 21st, 2027, providing stability and the chance to make an impact over several years. Working closely with young learners in a collaborative school setting, you'll empower students who are non-verbal or have low verbal skills, assist with feeding, and support them through toilet training and behavioral development.
Key Qualifications:
Valid GaPSC Teaching Certificate with both Special and General Education Endorsements covering Pre-K age groups. Prior experience working with Pre-K children with special needs, especially those requiring assistance with daily living skills. Confidence and skill in managing challenging behaviors with patience and compassion. Ability to communicate effectively with young children, families, and fellow staff. Flexible, positive, and collaborative mindset in supporting team goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized instruction and interventions tailored to each students unique needs and abilities. Provide direct care, including feeding assistance, diapering, and support with toilet training. Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and growth. Document student progress, collaborate on education plans, and maintain clear and timely communication with parents and team members. Contribute to behavior support and communication strategies for children who are non-verbal or have limited verbal skills.
