You'll be working closely with students who are in various stages of verbal development and may require hands-on assistance with feeding, toilet training, and managing behaviors. Your commitment and creativity will help lay a strong foundation for these children, many of whom are non-verbal or have low verbal abilities. Qualifications & Experience Valid GaPSC Teaching Certificate Endorsements in both Special Education and General Education for Pre-K Experience or strong interest in early childhood special education Comfort with hands-on care including toileting/diapering and assisted feeding Skillful in managing behaviors and creating an inclusive classroom environment Compassionate approach with patience for developmental differences Key Responsibilities Plan and implement individualized educational programs for Pre-K students with special needs Provide direct care with positive reinforcement, including assistance during toileting and feeding Support communication development, including alternative and augmentative communication methods Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and families Monitor and document student progress, adapting strategies to meet their evolving needs Foster a nurturing, safe, and engaging classroom If you're enthusiastic about helping children thrive in their earliest years and meet the requirements for this role, we'd love to connect with you.
