Empower young learners as a Special Education Teacher supporting preschool-aged children with diverse needs. An exciting contract position is available serving a Special Education Pre-K program for students aged 35. These enthusiastic and unique students present a range of abilities, including some who are non-verbal, in the midst of toilet training, and require feeding assistance. Set in a collaborative, resource-rich elementary school environment, you'll play an essential role in helping children develop foundational skills in a nurturing classroom atmosphere. This full-time opportunity runs from August 4th, 2026 through May 21st, 2027, offering a consistent weekly schedule of 37.5 hours.

Qualifications:

Valid GaPSC Teaching Certificate, with Special and General Education Endorsements applicable to Pre-K Experience teaching or supporting early childhood or special education populations, especially ages 35, strongly preferred Patience, compassion, and comfort with providing toileting/diapering and feeding assistance Familiarity with behavior management techniques for young children with varying verbal ability Strong communication abilities to partner with families, support staff, and related service professionals

Responsibilities:
