9584556-30741 Job Description A fulfilling contract opportunity awaits an experienced Special Education Teacher eager to make a difference in the lives of elementary students. This position supports a small, inclusion-based classroom of approximately 8-10 children in grades PreK through 2ndprimarily serving 1st and 2nd graders, with a few kindergarteners as well. The school community is welcoming, collaborative, and committed to student success. You will play a pivotal role connecting with young learners exhibiting a range of needs, including autism, significant developmental delays, speech or language differences, self-regulation challenges, and learning disabilities. The environment is dynamic and supportive, with students who benefit from individualized attention and adaptive teaching strategies. While toileting or diapering is generally not required, there is one child who requires supervised assistance with a toileting goal.

Qualifications & Experience:

Valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) teaching license P-12 Special Education (SPED) endorsement required Dyslexia endorsement required Experience working with elementary-aged children in an inclusion classroom setting Comfortable managing a diverse caseload and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team Strong understanding of behavioral supports and differentiated instruction

Primary Responsibilities:

Deliver individualized instruction, accommodations, and modifications as specified in student IEPs Foster a classroom culture that encourages growth, inclusivity, and self-regulation Employ creative and engaging teaching methods for a variety of developmental and learning needs Collaborate closely with general educators, specialists, families, and support staff Supervise and support students daily routines, including goal-oriented tasks This full-time assignment begins with pre-planning in late July and continues through the school year until May 21st, 2027.
