Job Description

Make a meaningful impact supporting students as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in an engaging, itinerant role within the school setting. This full-time, onsite opportunity offers the chance to work directly with students, families, and team members, providing vital educational support and advocacy. Begin as soon as possible and enjoy a dynamic caseload that brings variety and new experiences daily.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Current Illinois Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (TDHH) License is required State-specific certification (PEL or equivalent as mandated) Previous experience working with deaf and hard of hearing students in educational settings preferred Skilled in designing and delivering tailored instructional strategies Ability to travel between locations within the district as needed for itinerant services Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset
Responsibilities:
Deliver direct instruction and support to students with varying degrees of hearing loss across multiple schools Assess educational needs and adapt curriculum to ensure student access to classroom content Work closely with general education teachers, interpreters, and special education staff Foster a positive, inclusive environment that promotes communication and self-advocacy for students Collaborate with families to set goals, monitor progress, and support educational plans Maintain accurate records and participate in meetings regarding student progress and services This position offers competitive weekly pay, along with comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
