Qualifications:

Illinois teaching certification with endorsement for Teachers for the Visually Impaired. Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or related field. Prior experience working with visually impaired students preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and adaptive teaching skills. Ability to assess student needs and develop individualized education plans (IEPs).

Responsibilities:

Deliver instruction and support for students with visual impairments across various grade levels. Adapt curriculum materials and resources for accessibility. Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families. Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary teams. Monitor students progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
