+ Monitor student progress and maintain required documentation.

+ Participate in team meetings and educational planning. Qualifications

+ Valid Illinois Special Education teaching license required.

+ LBS1 endorsement preferred.

+ Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university preferred.

+ Previous teaching experience in a special education setting preferred.

+ Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation.

+ Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Preferred Credentials

+ Standard Elementary, Secondary, or Special Education Teaching Certification

+ Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) Endorsement

The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator provides quality services to special education students, kindergarten through grade 12. The Special Education Teacher has a commitment to team participation in planning and implementation of student programs including special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation with general education staff.

Minimum Requirements:

+ Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university preferred

+ Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations

+ Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred
