This rewarding contract opportunity allows you to work with a small caseload, fostering strong connections with students across both an elementary and a junior high campushoused conveniently beside one another. Your expertise will make an immediate difference for three Deaf/Hard of Hearing students at the elementary level and two students at the junior high. Youll enjoy the chance to tailor instruction, collaborate with passionate faculty, and contribute to a positive, inclusive educational experience as you journey between the two schools each day.

Qualifications:

Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Deaf/Hard of Hearing endorsement required Previous experience teaching children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing (DHH) preferred Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) Knowledge of assistive technology and strategies for DHH learners ASL proficiency or willingness to improve ASL skills is highly valued

Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct instruction and support to DHH students at both the elementary and junior high levels Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals in collaboration with educational teams and families Differentiate instruction based on student needs, ensuring access to curriculum and activities Advocate for student accommodations, modifications, and support services Work closely with classroom teachers, specialists, and support staff This contract role offers the chance to work with a supportive, collaborative community.
