Job Description

Take the next step in your Special Education teaching career with a rewarding opportunity supporting students in a self-contained classroom. This full-time, temporary contract role spans 12 weeks and begins as soon as possible. Located near Round Lake, IL, youll join a dedicated educational team providing crucial assistance to students with autism, with a manageable caseload of approximately 8 to 15 students.
Position Highlights:
12-week contract role with immediate start Full-time hours: Monday to Friday, 8:20AM 3:10PM (35 hours/week) Engage directly onsitevirtual/remote options not available Serve a self-contained classroom of elementary students with autism Work within a supportive and resourceful school environment
Qualifications:
Active Special Education teaching certification in Illinois required Experience working in schools and/or with children on the autism spectrum preferred Prior teaching or Special Education experience is highly desirable Ability to work collaboratively and compassionately with students, teachers, and families Strong organizational and communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver tailored instruction to students with diverse learning needs in a self-contained setting Implement IEPs, monitor progress, and adjust instructional strategies as needed Create a positive and structured classroom atmosphere that encourages student growth and independence Collaborate with school staff and related service professionals to ensure holistic support for students Maintain accurate student records and participate in team meetings as required Make a genuine difference for students while expanding your skill set in a supportive and engaging school.
