Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a difference every day by supporting the growth and success of elementary students in a vibrant educational setting. This role invites you to work as a dedicated Special Education Teacher, guiding K-4 learners within a resource model that blends direct instruction with in-class support. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, covering 35 hours each week, and runs through early June of 2027. Your expertise will empower students both academically and socially/emotionally as you serve a manageable caseload of 8-10 students.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver targeted instruction and interventions, including both pull-out resource sessions and push-in support in general education classrooms. Foster a welcoming, inclusive learning environment encouraging academic progress and emotional development. Monitor student progress, adapting plans to address evolving needs and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. Communicate regularly with families, sharing successes and strategies to support learning at home. Uphold school policies and maintain compliance with educational standards.

Qualifications & Experience:

Current Professional Educator's License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement, or eligible for Illinois licensure through

ISBE ELIS

for out-of-state candidates. Experience providing academic and social/emotional support in an elementary resource model is preferred. Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. Commitment to supporting diverse learners and working in an onsite, collaborative school environment.
