Duties Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy, math, physical education, and Montessori methods. Manage classroom behavior to create a safe, respectful, and stimulating environment conducive to learning. Conduct assessments of student progress through standardized testing and formative evaluations; adapt instruction accordingly. Facilitate child development instruction focusing on early intervention strategies for diverse learning needs. Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, behavior, and developmental milestones. Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain accurate documentation of student records. Incorporate child welfare practices into daily activities, ensuring health and safety protocols such as first aid and CPR are followed. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, classroom activities, and school events. Support children's social-emotional growth through behavior management techniques and positive reinforcement strategies. Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with early childhood education best practices. Requirements Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings; preschool or daycare experience preferred. Knowledge of childhood development principles, special education needs, and early intervention techniques. Strong classroom management skills with the ability to foster a nurturing learning environment. Familiarity with curriculum development, lesson planning, and standardized testing procedures. Excellent communication skills for effective parent interaction and team collaboration. Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred; willingness to obtain certification if not already held. Understanding of mandated reporting laws related to child welfare. Experience teaching physical education or tutoring is a plus; Montessori or preschool teaching experience is highly desirable. Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse student needs across different age groups including toddlers and preschoolers.
