In this vital role, you will lead classroom activities, develop engaging curricula, and support the holistic development of children with diverse learning needs. Responsibilities Design and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with developmental milestones and individualized education programs (IEPs). Lead classroom instruction for students with disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum and with neurodevelopmental disorders, ensuring instructional modifications meet each child's needs. Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive behavior management strategies tailored for students with special needs. Collaborate regularly with speech therapists, behavioral health specialists, and other professionals to support student progress and well-being. Utilize educational technology tools to enhance learning experiences and track student progress through standardized testing and assessments. Communicate proactively with parents and guardians regarding student development, IEP goals, and classroom activities to foster strong home-school connections. Mentor assistant teachers and support staff, providing guidance on curriculum development, classroom management, and best practices in early childhood education. Requirements High School Diplom or GED equivalent TB skin test Interested in earning CDA Proven experience working with children in early childhood or elementary school settings, especially those with disabilities or developmental delays. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues, families, and external professionals. Demonstrated ability to manage classroom dynamics confidently while fostering an inclusive, nurturing atmosphere.
