Key Qualifications:

Active Louisiana Educator Certificate required

Preferred:

Special Education (SPED) Educator Certificate; however, Elementary 1-5 Certificate holders will be considered Experience or strong interest in elementary education and supporting students with special needs Commitment to developing IEPs, adapting curriculum, and implementing targeted intervention strategies Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver tailored instruction to students in a self-contained elementary SPED classroom Develop and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure holistic student development Track student progress and document outcomes to adjust teaching approaches as needed Foster a nurturing, safe environment that supports both academic and social-emotional growth Maintain compliance with all state and federal special education regulations
