Key Qualifications:

Active Louisiana Educator Certificate required SPED Educator Certificate strongly preferred; Elementary 1-5 Certificate holders considered Previous experience working with special education caseloads, particularly self-contained classrooms, is highly desirable Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills Dedication to creating supportive, individualized educational strategies for students with diverse needs

Primary Responsibilities:

Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students in a self-contained classroom Collaborate with classroom staff, parents, and related service providers to foster a nurturing and productive learning atmosphere Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to accommodate varying learning needs and styles Maintain accurate student records, monitor progress, and communicate results with families and multidisciplinary team members Foster positive student engagement and manage classroom behaviors in accordance with established protocols
