Key Qualifications:
Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication modalities Experience adapting curriculum for diverse learning needs Strong collaborative skills for working alongside general education teachers, related service providers, and families Ability to assess, monitor, and document student progress with sensitivity and accuracy Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and accessible classroom culture
Responsibilities:
Deliver differentiated instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, both individually and in group settings Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs Collaborate with multidisciplinary school teams to support academic and social success Consult with teachers and staff on effective communication strategies and classroom accommodations Advocate for student needs, ensuring access to resources, assistive technology, and educational materials Participate in professional development to stay informed on best practices in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education This role offers the rewarding chance to create lasting impact, promote equitable access to education, and grow professionally within a district that values your skills.
