What youll bring:
Current, valid Louisiana Department of Education Certification with a Special Education (SPED) endorsement (active status required) Demonstrated success in a special education setting, with strong understanding of IEP processes, data collection, and progress monitoring Ability to provide valuable instructional strategies and support for non-certified educators Flexibility and organizational skills to move between multiple schools as part of an itinerant team Commitment to upholding district standards and meeting credentialing requirements, including passing district-specific drug testing and fingerprinting protocols Key responsibilities: Work across various schools to mentor and support non-certified special education teachers Guide colleagues in effective IEP writing, implementation, and regular data collection Develop and recommend instructional strategies tailored for diverse learners Assist with progress reports and compliance to maintain the highest standards in individualized education planning Serve as a knowledgeable resource for best practices in special education within the district Enjoy the benefit of contributing to multiple learning communities and fostering educational growth for students who need it most.
