Key Qualifications:

Valid and active Louisiana Department of Education Certification with a Special Education (SPED) endorsement is required Candidates with Teaching Assistant or Temporary Authority credentials will not be considered Must be fully licensed and ready to begin work; candidates currently in the licensure process will not be accepted Drug screening and fingerprinting are required for district credentialing Experience working with a diverse student population in a school setting is highly preferred

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide specialized instruction and support for students with a variety of learning needs Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to students unique abilities Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff Maintain accurate records and progress monitoring in compliance with district and state guidelines Engage with families and caregivers to foster a positive learning environment Caseload and specific school assignments will be determined prior to placement
