Job Description

Step into a dynamic contract opportunity where your expertise as a certified special education teacher can make a significant difference. This full-time position runs through the school calendar, offering 35 hours per week from Monday to Friday. You'll collaborate with multiple schools in the vibrant New Orleans area, supporting students with special needs and empowering non-certified teaching staff.
Key Qualifications:
Active Louisiana Department of Education certification with a Special Education endorsement required Must not hold a TA or TAT; only link candidates with current, appropriate licensure Experience in developing and implementing IEPs, as well as data collection and progress monitoring Familiarity with supporting other educators through instructional modeling and best practices Flexible and adaptable to travel between school sites as needed throughout the academic year Successful completion of district-required drug test, fingerprinting, and agency background check
Your Role:
Provide hands-on instructional support to non-certified teachers in special education classrooms Guide and participate in IEP writing, ensuring compliance and individualized student progress Implement and model a variety of instructional strategies tailored to diverse learners Collaborate on data-driven instruction, conduct progress reviews, and support timely assessment documentation Serve as a resource for current best practices and special education processes Adapt to multiple school environments, building positive relationships with school teams and students As a valued professional in this assignment, you will gain exposure to a wide range of students and educational teams, growing your expertise and network throughout the year.
