Job Description

Step into an impactful role supporting special education across multiple schools as a certified Special Education Teacher. This full-time contract opportunity allows you to make a difference in the lives of students and the educators collaborating with them. Based in the New Orleans area, youll work closely with non-certified teachers, providing expert guidance and hands-on support throughout the academic year.
Key Qualifications:
Active Louisiana Department of Education teaching certificate with SPED endorsement (absolutely required) Demonstrated K-12 special education classroom experience Strong understanding of IEP development, data collection, and writing progress reports Flexible, organized, and comfortable working in an itinerant role across campuses Clear record and ability to complete all background, drug, and fingerprint checks as required by the district
Responsibilities:
Serve as an itinerant Special Education Teacher across multiple campuses (number determined by district needs) Support non-certified teachers in implementing high-quality instructional strategies for students in special education Lead and assist with IEP creation and ongoing documentation Collect data and track student progress, collaborating closely with school teams Guide and mentor teachers on best practices, ensuring compliance and fostering student success Communicate professionally with staff and administrators
