Job Description

Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. In this onsite, contract-to-hire position, youll play a vital role supporting students language development and educational progress. Collaborate with an engaged school team, utilize your expertise to create accessible learning environments, and help each student reach their full potential.
What youll bring:
Active Louisiana Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing license (LA TDHH License) Previous classroom or educational experience supporting deaf or hard of hearing students Strong knowledge of communication modalities, including American Sign Language (ASL), oral/auditory approaches, and total communication Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary school teams, families, and external providers Passion for individualized instruction and student advocacy Adaptability and creativity in lesson planning Commitment to ongoing professional development Responsibilities include: Delivering direct instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, adapting curriculum and teaching strategies to meet varied learning needs Conducting assessments and maintaining detailed documentation of student progress Consulting with teachers, staff, and families to support and implement IEP goals Providing resources and recommendations for classroom modifications and accommodations Serving as an advocate and resource within the school community Participating in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions Keeping up-to-date with best practices in deaf education This position comes with a full-time weekly schedule, caseload to be determined, and comprehensive benefits.
