Full Job Description Position Title:
Learning Interventionist The Learning Interventionist at Jesuit High School supports students with diverse learning needs by providing targeted academic interventions, fostering skill development, and promoting student success in alignment with the school's Catholic mission. This role collaborates closely with teachers, counselors, parents, and administrators to ensure all students are supported academically, socially, and spiritually. This salaried, exempt faculty position works as a 10-month employee reporting to the Principal and the Director of Guidance. The start date for this position is August 1, 2026. Jesuit High School New Orleans, LA Jesuit High School is a non-profit, Catholic, college-preparatory school for boys in grades 8-12. It is located in Mid-City New Orleans on Carrollton Avenue between Palmyra and Banks Streets. The mission of Jesuit High School as a Catholic, college preparatory school is to develop in its students the competence, conscience, and compassion that will enable them to be men of faith and men for others. Professional Responsibilities Supports students with diagnosed learning differences, including those with 504 accommodation plans Develops and implements personalized learning plans based on student needs, psychological evaluations, and learning accommodations Coordinates with school counselors and administration in developing and administering a comprehensive program for academically at-risk students Teaches between 2-3 periods a day of Study Hall, leading 10-15 minutes of direct instruction per class and supporting students with academic work for the remainder of each period Oversees programs for individualized and small-group interventions for academically at-risk students, such as PASS, extended testing, and after school tutoring in core subjects Works closely with classroom teachers to adapt instruction, assessments, and materials, which includes creating an up-to-date extended testing list for each exam period Coordinates accommodations for standardized testing Participates in student support meetings and contributes to intervention strategies Communicates regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and strategies for support at home Consults with students to identify learning needs and refers students to specialists for formal assessments or assessment updates Maintains accurate records of student progress, interventions, and outcomes, updating the School Portal with 504 information Helps students build study skills, organization, time management, and test-taking strategies Professional Requirements Appreciation and support for Catholic and Jesuit religious ethos Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, or related field (Master's preferred). Certification or licensure in Special Education or Learning Disabilities (preferred) Experience working with high school students with diverse learning needs Strong understanding of instructional and intervention strategies Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skillsPreferred Skills:
Experience with executive functioning coaching Familiarity with assistive technology and learning accommodations Ability to analyze data and use it to inform instruction Bottom of Form Salary and Benefits Jesuit offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience and a benefits package including a 401k with employer contributions as well as employer-paid life and disability insurance.
