A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

Key Responsibilities :
Implement a dynamic theme based weekly curriculum focused on exploration, creativity, and cognitive development. Foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive environment for children to grow socially, emotionally, and intellectually. Observe, assess, and document children's developmental milestones and progress regularly. Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers, providing updates on child development and engaging in regular feedback sessions. Create a welcoming, safe, and organized classroom environment, ensuring compliance with Massachusetts EEC standards. Participate in team collaboration with other educators to develop cross-curricular activities and events that engage children in meaningful learning experiences. Participate in professional development opportunities and training to continuously improve teaching practices. Ensure classroom safety and compliance with all EEC regulations, including maintaining appropriate teacher-child ratios and documentation. K Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (preferred) EEC Teacher Certification in Early Education and Care (enrolled in classes or looking for enrollment : Assistant Teachers). At least 2 years of experience working with young children in a preschool or early childhood education setting. Strong knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and establish meaningful relationships with children, families, and staff. CPR and First Aid Certified (or ability to obtain upon hire).
